Hello!

My name is Hugh Ryall & I’m the Broker-in-Charge of Earth Available Realty, Inc. - a Buyers’ Only Agency. My wife, Carol, and I opened Earth Available Realty, Inc in 1991 to specialize in helping our clients find and buy the home of their dreams.Hugh and Carol's Ryall Family

Born and raised in Grosse Pointe, Michigan, I went to high school at Culver Military Academy in Indiana, attended the University of Michigan, served in the US Army, and then spent twenty years in a wide variety of enterprises. I moved to South Carolina in 1975 and love being here. If you are moving in from somewhere else, you are very fortunate. If you are a native, I hope you appreciate just how lucky you are!

I started in real estate when I moved to Columbia and have worked in almost every facet of the industry - sales agent, on site agent, office manager, training director, developer - but working exclusively as a Buyers’ Agent has been the role I enjoy most. It is so satisfying to find just the right house for someone and watch their excitement mount as we move through the process of helping them buy it.

Carol and I are blessed to have a large blended family. Over the years, the many get-togethers in our home are some of the memories we cherish most. Helping other families find a place to enjoy those same pleasures is a wonderful career to have!

More About Hugh...

He is a lifetime member of the Greater Columbia Association of Realtors® Million Dollar Club, he has served extensively at the state and local levels for the South Carolina Real Estate Commission, the Greater Columbia Association of Realtors®, and the South Carolina Association of Realtors®. Ryall was one of seven Exclusive Buyer's Agents from all over the country invited to Chicago by the National Association of Realtors® to help establish the knowledge and criteria required to properly work as a Buyers' Agent.

Not only has he been recognized nationally as an outstanding Buyers’ Representative, he is also a nationally recognized Speaker and Instructor. Twice named by Agency Law Quarterly as one of the Top 50 Agency Instructors in the country. He has been a featured speaker at the Real Estate Educators Association (REEA) National Convention and the National Association of Exclusive Buyer's Agents (NAEBA) National Convention. In 1999, he was one of four instructors in the nation nominated as the National Real Estate Educator of the Year.

Ryall’s business acumen was developed over the years in positions such as the following:

A native of Detroit, Michigan, Ryall attended Culver Military Academy and the University of Michigan. Ryall has been a Columbia resident since 1975. He is a member of the Lexington Chamber of Commerce, and Saxe Gotha Presbyterian Church where he has served as a Stephen Ministers Leader and Instructor.

Because neither Hugh nor I believe we could effectively represent both a buyer and a seller in the same transaction, we structured our business so we would never be put in that position.

We will never ask you to settle for Dual Agency or Designated Agency. (Dual Agency is when a real estate agent is representing both the buyer and the seller and can do nothing for either of them which would harm the other one. That includes even being able to negotiate a lower price for you, because that would harm the Seller. Is that what you want?)

More About Carol...

I was born in Hickory, NC. We moved to Greenville, SC when I was two and then to Florence, SC when I was nine. I graduated from McClenaghan High School in Florence and attended Winthrop College in Rock Hill. I moved to Columbia in 1969 and have been here ever since.

Hugh and I opened Earth Available Realty, Inc. as business partners in January of 1991. In December of 1992 we broadened our partnership to the rest of our lives by getting married - both partnerships have worked out extremely well! Between us, we have three children, five grandchildren and one great granddaughter (who are the delight of our lives!).

My favorite part of our business is meeting the wide range of discriminating people who become our clients. I have found that the people who give enough thought to what they do to recognize the benefits of Exclusive Buyer Representation are invariably insightful, interesting individuals.
